Summer vacation has finally started and Bird is looking forward to an extended stay at Saddle Creek Farm with her Aunt Hannah. Before she can settle into the routine of exercising horses and preparing Sunny for the shows, the entire community is thrown into chaos when a neighbourhood woman is brutally attacked on a local side road. The police don’t act swiftly enough to satisfy the demand for justice. The situation goes from bad to worse.

Neighbour accuses neighbour. A bent-on-revenge vigilante group springs up to take matters into their own hands. Nobody escapes the eagle-eyed attention and trigger-quick reaction of ‘Justice For the Innocent’, including a strange young man who Bird and Sunny meet in the woods, and the police are at risk of losing control.

Although she starts by observing the fuss from the sidelines, Bird quickly finds herself embroiled in the mystery when a nearby barn is burnt to the ground and horses lives are in grave peril. It becomes clear that Saddle Creek Farm is in the center of all the uncertainty when Cliff is fingered at the suspect.
